Welcome to Day 7 of our transformative 14-day morning yoga program! Today, we invite you to experience the profound benefits of Restorative Yoga, a practice designed to release tension and promote deep relaxation. Through gentle poses like Child's Pose and Pigeon Pose, you'll learn to harness the power of deep, mindful breathing to soothe your nervous system and create a sense of inner peace.
What to Expect:
Restorative Poses: Delve into a series of gentle, restorative poses carefully selected to allow your body to unwind and your mind to find tranquility.
Mindful Breathing: Embrace the practice of deep, mindful breathing as you move through each pose. Allow your breath to guide you toward a state of profound relaxation, calming your nervous system.
Poses in Today's Class:
Child's Pose (Balasana): Begin your Restorative Yoga practice in Child's Pose. Sink your hips back onto your heels, stretch your arms forward, and allow your forehead to rest on the floor. Focus on slow, deep breaths, feeling the gentle stretch in your hips and lower back.
Legs Up the Wall Pose (Viparita Karani): Lie down on your back with your hips close to a wall. Extend your legs up the wall and relax your arms. Close your eyes and immerse yourself in the calming sensation of slow, deep breaths. Feel the release in your lower body.
Pigeon Pose (Eka Pada Rajakapotasana): Move into Pigeon Pose to release tension in your hips and lower back. Breathe deeply and mindfully as you hold the pose, allowing the stretch to melt away any lingering discomfort. Repeat on the other side.
Supported Bridge Pose (Setu Bandha Sarvangasana): Lie on your back with knees bent, placing a block or bolster under your sacrum. Relax your arms and surrender to the support beneath you. Focus on your breath, allowing your body to let go and find deep relaxation.
Seated Forward Fold (Paschimottanasana): Conclude your Restorative Yoga practice with Seated Forward Fold. Inhale to lengthen your spine and exhale to fold forward. Embrace the stretch in your hamstrings and lower back, and let your breath guide you to a place of serenity.
Closing Thoughts:
Day 7 is a reminder that the path to rejuvenation and inner peace lies within your breath and the practice of surrender. Embrace the gentle release of tension through Restorative Yoga, allowing your nervous system to unwind. As you breathe mindfully, the healing effects of this practice will radiate through your entire being. Enjoy the profound relaxation of Day 7's Restorative Yoga session, and let it nurture your body and soul.
